Thursday 5th September 2013 Moscow

Your captivating full-day tour of this magnificent city begins with a visit to Red Square. Admire its prominent landmarks - Lenin's Tomb and St. Basil's cathedral, a colourful multi-domed complex whose architects were supposedly blinded by Ivan the Terrible so that they could never recreate such splendour again. You might also wish to ride on the famous Moscow metro, renowned for the ornate splendour of its stations. Afterwards continue to the Cold War Museum. After going down on a speed elevator to the depth of 65 meters, you will find yourself inside one of the most restricted military objects of Soviet Union. Your tour will lead you through the secret tunnels of the building and you will have an exclusive opportunity to get familiar with soviet armament and communication facilities of the Cold War. After lunch at the Tseleevo Polo Club House visit the unique and the world's only museum dedicated entirely to one specific example of armaments and military technology is a tribute to the legendary combat vehicle - T-34 medium tank.

Friday 6th September 2013 Moscow

Your tour begins with the extraordinary Kremlin Territory and its State Armoury; the oldest museum in Russia and home to a vast collection of precious stones and other priceless artefacts dating as far back as the 14th century. It is also home to an impressive selection of carriages from the best Russian and European masters, precious fabrics, royal gala clothes and a fine collection of Faberge eggs. For centuries, the Kremlin has been witness to many well-known and tragic events in Russia's past and so it is a treasure trove of Russian history. Your tour also includes two of the Kremlin's cathedrals: Assumption, the cathedral of coronations and the burial place of religious leaders, and Archangel, the royal burial church. Visit the St. Basil's cathedral the renowned multi-domed complex. After lunch an exclusive tour of the Bolshoi backstage, usually unseen areas of the world famous Bolshoi Theatre. The magnificent theatre with its eight-columned portico surmounted by a statue of Apollo was built in the mid-18th century to replace the original Bolshoi Theatre which burnt down in 1853. The interior is quite stunning, with a 6-tiered auditorium decorated in red and gold. The theatre professional will take you around the theatre rooms usually hidden for the public and tell the history of the theatre, premiers and its stars, Tsar's Box protocol. Apart from the main hall you will visit theatre's museum and a rehearsal hall where you might be able to see dancers warming up and musicians practicing. This evening there will be a Black Tie reception and fashion show at the British Ambassador's Residence.

Russia, a country of enormous social, political and geographic proportions, remains one of the great undiscovered destinations for travel in the 21st century with an incredible diversity of customs and culture. After your visit to Moscow, why not explore the historic city of St. Petersburg. St. Petersburg is an artistic and romantic city, crammed with opulent palaces yet resonating with overtones of the Revolution. Moscow Polo Club The Inaugural British Polo Day Russia 2013 will take place at The Moscow Polo Club, and is an exciting addition to the global event list. Prior to the opening of the Moscow Polo Club in 2003, polo had not been played in Russia for almost 90 years. Moscow Polo Club is the largest and oldest polo club in Russia. "With two serene polo grounds framed by silver birches, there is something unmistakably Russian about The Moscow Polo Club. It is a polo encounter that has been enjoyed by few people but, with both snow polo and summer polo seasons, it captures the country at two distinctive times of the year. The Club has flourished under the careful stewardship of Alex Rodzianko and the Inaugural BPD Russia this September promises to be an experience not to be missed."
